Privacy Policy

Who we are

Fluenttrix is a Mandarin Chinese learning application operated by Auto Generation Limited. If you have any questions about this policy, contact us at privacy@autogeneration.co.uk.

What data we collect

• -Account data: your email address and a hashed password when you register, or your Google account email if you sign in with Google.
• -Learning progress: vocabulary reviews, spaced-repetition ratings, sentence practice history, and goal settings.
• -Conversation transcripts: messages you exchange with the AI conversation feature. These are sent to Anthropic's API to generate responses (see Third-party services below).
• -Audio recordings: voice input you provide during speaking practice, transcribed by OpenAI and scored for pronunciation by Microsoft Azure Speech Services. We do not store your recordings.

We do not collect payment information directly. Any future payments are processed by a third-party provider.

Why we collect it

• -To create and secure your account
• -To power the spaced-repetition system and personalise your learning schedule
• -To generate AI conversation responses and pronunciation audio
• -To display your progress and goal tracking

Third-party services

Fluenttrix relies on the following sub-processors:

Security

• -All data in transit between your browser and our servers is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS.
• -Account data is stored by Supabase, which applies encryption at rest and operates under SOC 2 Type II controls.
• -In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you promptly in accordance with applicable law.
• -You are responsible for keeping your password secure. We are not responsible for unauthorised access resulting from a lost or compromised password.

Disclosure of information

We do not sell your personal data. We may share your information only in the following limited circumstances:

• -Sub-processors: to the third-party services listed above, strictly to the extent necessary to deliver the service.
• -Legal obligations: when required by law, regulation, court order, or valid legal process.
• -Safety and fraud: to protect the rights, safety, or property of Fluenttrix or its users.
• -Business transfer: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of Fluenttrix. If this occurs, we will notify you before your data is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

Children

Fluenttrix is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If we become aware that a child under 13 has created an account, we will delete the account and associated data promptly. If you believe we hold information from a child, please contact us at privacy@autogeneration.co.uk.

Cookies

• -Session cookie: set by Supabase to keep you logged in. It expires when you close your browser and is strictly necessary for the service to function.
• -We do not use advertising, analytics, or persistent tracking cookies of any kind.
• -Do Not Track: our service does not respond to browser Do Not Track signals, but because we use no cross-site tracking cookies, your browsing outside of Fluenttrix is not tracked by us regardless.

Data retention

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

Your rights

Under GDPR and similar laws, you have the right to:

• -Access a copy of the data we hold about you
• -Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
• -Request deletion of your account and associated data
• -Receive your data in a portable format
• -Object to or restrict certain types of processing
• -Limit decisions made about you by automated systems (our spaced-repetition system automatically schedules your learning content, and you may contact us to request human review of any automated outcome)

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If the changes are material, we will notify you by email or an in-app notice before they take effect. The date at the top of this page always reflects when the policy was last revised.
